Our Lady’s Breakfast Cake is easy to make and will satisfy any chocolate craving, topped with creamy frosting.
This homemade brownie recipe has been around for a long time and is a favorite treat for kids of all ages.
Do you remember those ladies in the elementary school cafeteria?
They made the perfect cake with rich chocolate frosting.
I was trying to see if I liked the soft cookie or the frosting better in this recipe, but couldn’t decide. I think I like the combination of the homemade brownie with the smooth and creamy chocolate frosting.
Tasty brownies seem to have been around forever, with a few twists here and there. But, in general, they did much the same thing.
Ingredients:
°1 cup melted butter
°1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
°2 cups all-purpose flour
°2 cups granulated sugar
°4 large eggs
°4 teaspoons vanilla extract
+icing:
°1/4 cup soft butter
°1/4 c milk (I used whole milk)
°1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
°3 cups powdered sugar
Preparation:
In bowl, cream the butter & sugar together. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well until the mixture becomes smooth. Add the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Don’t mix too much. The mix will be very thick.
Pour into the prepared pan, pour the batter as thinly as possible (it will be thick) & bake for 20-25 mn Bad on the side of cutting food if you’re wondering.
We take it out of the oven and leave it for 15 minutes. You want it to stay warm when you pour the frosting. Once you take the brownies out of the oven, prepare the frosting by mixing all four ingredients together until smooth. Pour the icing over the still warm brownies. Cool completely and serve.
Enjoy !
